Klamath Family Warming Center

The Klamath Family Warming Center will open its doors December 15, 2016 at Klamath Assembly of God Church.  This center provides a warm, safe place for homeless families, women and men to have a hot meal and rest for the night.

The goal of Klamath Family Warming Center is to strengthen and support each family unit, to be able to alleviate possible stresses due to homelessness, and to support parents helping their children with homework.

The Warming Center is vital to providing additional safety and security to homeless families in our community.  With our bitter cold nights, it is important to provide an alternative to sleeping in cars or other unsafe conditions. Not only can guests get out of the cold and eat a warm meal, they are able to get a hot shower, spend quality family time, do homework, recharge their phones and other devices, and this year each family will receive a voucher once a week which allows them to wash one load of laundry at Main Street Laundry. Plus, providing a central place to connect with these families provides the opportunity to refer to services that can help them become housed and build stability.

The Center is staffed nightly by a group of dedicated volunteers serving hot food, helping guests check in, and providing assistance throughout the evening.  Volunteers are needed throughout the winter season.  If you are interested in contributing your time, please contact Klamath Assembly of God at (541) 883-2286 for more information.  To learn more, please view the attached Volunteer Letter and visit the Klamath Assembly of God website by clicking here.  You can sign up to volunteer directly through the KAOG website.
