LETTER OF THANKS

The Power Of Partnerships For The Good Of Our Communities

Klamath & Lake Homeownership Center, a direct service of Klamath & Lake Community Action Services (KLCAS); would like to recognize participating businesses and individuals that have come together for a win-win partnership in educating our Community.

With national economic challenges and the State of Oregon at a 30% budget decrease, non-profit agencies deeply depend on shared support for the success of community programs. KLHC offers an 8-hour Financial Fitness and Home Buyer education class at no cost to participants in addition to one-on-one personal appointment’s that include budgeting techniques, specific steps to buying a home, and a foreclosure prevention program. We have also entered into a partnership with Klamath Falls City School District to co-teach a 16 week financial fitness curriculum as a pilot program offered at KUHS.

The Fair Housing Council of Oregon (FHCO) is a statewide civil rights organization whose mission is to eliminate housing discrimination through enforcement and education.  We are a nonprofit corporation and not a governmental agency.

Fair Housing is a set of federal, state, and local laws which protect people from illegal housing discrimination.  Federal law prohibits housing discrimination based on a person's race, color, national origin, religion, sex, familial status (children in the household under age 18, anticipated presence of children through adoption, pregnancy, etc.), or physical or mental disability.
