Klamath & Lake Homeless Benefits ProgramNon-Attorney representation for disabled homeless and low-income individuals About Us Th Klamath & Lake Homeless Benefits Program is a new direct service program at KLCAS. The program was established in August of 2010 through the Oregon Housing and Community Services (OHCS). Using American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) funds, OHCS selected KLCAS as one of four pilot programs in the state to receive training in the SSI/SSDI Outcome, Access, and Recovery (SOAR) model from Mellani Calvin of Disability Benefits Training and Consulting. What We Do We are committed to improving access to Social Security disability benefits for homeless and low-income disabled individuals by providing intensive representation in navigating the Social Security disability application process. By acting as the Authorized Representative for qualified individuals, we are able to help with the evidentiary requirements of Social Security that often lead to denial of claims. Authorized Representatives are recognized by Social Security as having the same authority as the applicant in communicating with them, allowing us to handle virtually every step of the application process. This is important when the applicant is homeless or incapable of keeping up with the requirements of the application process. To request our help or to refer someone to us, please fill out the Client Referral Form and fax or mail it to the address listed below.
